New to Canada? The Volkswagen Finance Newcomer Program makes it easier to get behind the wheel, with reduced requirements including no down payment. Whether you’re a foreign investor, business professional, worker, or student, getting the car you want should be easy.

Foreign business professional

On assignment in Canada? The Foreign Business Professional Plan is for fully employed visitors with an International Assignment, qualified Foreign Diplomat or Federal Skilled Worker (SW1) permit, or for those with a Canadian Professional Designation, such as lawyer, engineer, pharmacist or doctor.

Options and eligibility

This plan lets you lease or finance a new, Certified Pre-Owned, or Pre-Owned Volkswagen for a period not to exceed that of your work permit or visa. There’s no minimum down payment required, nor is there a maximum finance amount.

The paperwork

Beyond your work permit and a clean credit history, you also need a valid Canadian driver’s licence, and a letter of employment, including job title and income.  For Foreign Diplomat qualifications, please contact your Dealer.

Foreign investor

The Foreign Investor Plan is for permanent residents of Canada with an Investor (NV5), Entrepreneur (EN5), or Provincial Nominee (PV2) immigration status.

Options and eligibility

With this plan you can lease or finance a new, Certified Pre-Owned, or Pre-Owned Volkswagen for a period not to exceed that of your work permit or visa. A down payment equal to 20% of the transaction price is required, with a maximum of $125,000 financed.

The paperwork

Beyond your work permit, your visa, or confirmation of permanent residency, you also require a valid Canadian driver’s licence, a residence verification, and one personal reference. Final approval is dependent on a clean credit history.

Foreign worker

The Foreign Worker Plan is designed for temporary or permanent residents in Canada here on a work permit.

Options and eligibility

Our Foreign Worker Plan lets you lease a new or Certified Pre-Owned Volkswagen for a period not to exceed that of your visa or work permit. A down payment equal to 20% of the transaction price is required, with $50,000 the maximum amount financed. To qualify, you must provide proof of income of $2,000 or more per month.

The paperwork

In addition to your work permit or visa and a clean credit history, this plan requires a valid Canadian driver’s licence, one personal reference, and a letter of employment, including hire date, job title and income.

Foreign student

Coming to Canada to study? This plan is for full-time students registered at an accredited Canadian college or university.

Options and eligibility

With this plan you can lease a new or Certified Pre-Owned Volkswagen for a period not to exceed that of your student visa. A down payment equal to 20% of the transaction price is required, with $75,000 the maximum amount financed.

The paperwork

Beyond your student visa and a clean credit history, you also require a valid Canadian driver’s licence, plus an official letter from your college’s or university’s registrar confirming your full-time enrollment with end date. You must also provide three months’ bank statements.
